History

Lake Toba is expected to occur when an explosion around 73,000-75,000 years ago and is a supervolcano Eruption (super volcano) is the most recent. Bill Rose and Craig Was from Michigan Technological University estimated that volcanic materials spewed out as many as 2,800 km mountain, with 800 km ³ ³ ignimbrit rocks and 2,000 km ³ of volcanic ash that is blown to the West for 2 weeks. Wind blown volcanic ash which has spread to half of the Earth, from China to South Africa. Eruptive for 1 week and pebbles while letting the ashes were reaching 10 miles above sea level.
This incident causes mass death and in some species also followed the extinction. According to some DNA evidence, the eruption has also shrunk the number of humans up to about 60% of the total human population of the Earth, which is about 60 million people. The eruption that also led to the onset of the last ice age, though experts are still memperdebatkannya.
After the eruption, the caldera was formed by water and then filled into what is now known as Lake Toba. Pressure by magma that hasn't come out led to the island Samosir.
International multidisciplinary team of researchers, led by Dr. Michael Petraglia, revealed in a press conference in Oxford, the United States that has found a new archaeological sites which are quite spectacular by the geologist in South and North India. On the site it was revealed how people survive, before and after the eruption of the volcano (supervolcano) Toba in 74,000 years ago, and evidence of the existence of life under the cover of ashes of Mt. Toba. Whereas eruption located about 3,000 miles, from its ashes spread.
For seven years, experts from Oxford University's research project on ecosystems, India to search for evidence of life and living which they leave the equipment in the deforested. Spacious area with thousands of hectares turned out just the savanna (Meadow). While scattered animal skeletons. The team concluded that area is quite extensive, it turns out covered in dust from the ancient volcanic eruption.
The spread of volcanic dust was very widespread, found in almost all over the world. Derived from an ancient supervolcano eruptions, namely Mount Toba. The allegations led to the Toba Volcano, because it was discovered evidence form the molecule of the same volcanic ash at 2100 points. Since Caldera crater which is now Lake Toba in Indonesia so, up to 3000 miles, from the source of the explosion. Even that surprisingly enough, it turns out the spread of dust it up recorded up to the North Pole. This reminds the experts, how fierce the eruption of a super volcano Toba at that time.
